Skipton Town Council, as part of the Christmas Lights Switch On, on the 27th of November 2022 will be putting together a Lantern Parade and would like to reach out to as many schools and community groups as possible to inform local children and parents.
We will also be facilitating some lantern making workshops.
These workshops will take place at St Andrews church on Saturday the 19th and 26th of November between 10am and 1pm
Workshops will cost £10 per child then £5 for any additional children
All material will be provided, and children will be able to take home the lanterns following the sessions.
Parents supervision is required.
Below are some helpful links on how to make the lanterns and where to buy kits if you want to make a lantern at home.
We would love to see the High Street filled with creative designs made by local children. The parade will depart from the bottom of the High Street at 4.00pm on Sunday the 27th of November and will be led up the High Street by Santa to the stage by the Cenotaph where the Christmas Lights will be switched on.
Please let us know if you wish to attend by emailing eventsadmin@skiptontowncouncil.gov.uk
